BIC Ends Operations of Rocketbook and Skin Creative
BIC has decided to cease the operations of Rocketbook, Inkbox, and Tattly following a performance evaluation of these entities, according to a company statement.
Impact on Financial Forecasts
According to the statement, the discontinuation of Rocketbook, Inkbox, and Tattly will not impact BIC's 2025 financial forecasts. The company indicates that this decision will have a minimal impact on the current year's revenue and adjusted operating margin.
Reasons Behind the Decision
BIC's decision to withdraw from these activities stems from a thorough review, as indicated by the company. The performance of Rocketbook and other activities grouped under Skin Creative did not meet the group's ambitions. Rob Versloot, CEO of BIC, stated that each business unit must contribute to the group's growth and profitability, and these entities did not deliver the expected results, with their revenue and profitability significantly deteriorating since their acquisition.
Foundation for Future Growth
BIC, a global leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers, states that this decision aims to establish a solid foundation for its future. The company operates in over 160 countries and has more than 13,000 employees. Listed on Euronext Paris, it is included in the SBF120 and CAC Mid 60 indices.
