Bourse Direct Establishes Biannual Review of Life Insurance Investment Options
The online brokerage firm has formalized a method for regularly evaluating investment options listed in its life insurance contracts and Retirement Savings Plans. This approach is based on a rating system developed internally by its Savings division.
Biannual Reassessment of Listed Investment Options
Bourse Direct has implemented a biannual review of all investment options referenced in its Bourse Direct Horizon, Bourse Direct Vie, and e-PER Generali savings contracts. Twice a year, each product range undergoes an in-depth analysis that may lead to the inclusion of new funds or the removal of options that no longer meet the selection criteria defined by the company.
According to Maxime Poque, Head of Savings at Bourse Direct, this initiative aims to combine a broad choice of funds in open architecture with regular selection and monitoring of the quality of options offered. The approach aligns, according to the company, with its commitment to supporting savers with a diversified offering that is regularly reassessed.
Quantitative Analysis, Qualitative Assessment and Dialogue with Insurers
The review is based on an internal model combining three approaches. A quantitative analysis founded on data for each fund (risk-adjusted performance, risk management, fund robustness and asset management company strength), relying on indicators such as the Sortino ratio, information ratio, and downside capture ratio, with weighting adapted to each asset class.
This is supplemented by a qualitative assessment conducted by the Savings division, which evaluates asset management companies and teams as well as the consistency of investment choices, and ongoing dialogue with insurers enabling these analyses to be cross-referenced with the regulatory Value for Money framework. The company states that the objective of this review is not to predict future fund performance, but to preserve the quality of the offering.
