Carrefour and Vusion Sign Digitalization Partnership in France
Carrefour and Vusion announced on February 18, 2026, the signing of a strategic partnership for the digitalization of all Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in France by 2030. This deployment is part of the 'Carrefour 2030' plan and represents a major technological alliance for Europe.
Strategic Partnership Details
Carrefour and Vusion have entered into a strategic partnership focusing on the rollout of digitalization solutions across all Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in France. The partnership includes the installation of cutting-edge electronic labels, intelligent rails, and AI-driven cameras. The deployment is a part of the 'Carrefour 2030' plan. Carrefour has also joined the Strategic Advisory Board of the Vusion technology platform. This partnership follows successful pilot projects initiated since June 2025.
Technological Components of the Deployment
The deployment will integrate three technological components: the Vusion IoT infrastructure, which allows real-time price updates and light-guided staff navigation; the EdgeSense™ technology featuring Bluetooth-connected rails for automatic product geolocation; and the Captana artificial intelligence with micro-cameras that continuously analyze shelves to automatically detect stockouts, pricing discrepancies, and layout errors.
Beyond Deployment: A Commitment to Innovation
Beyond the deployment, the two groups are committed to a close collaboration on innovation. A joint lab named 'Next Retail Experience Center' will be established to invent the commerce of tomorrow, focusing on the use of AI to enhance operational performance and personalized customer experience, agent-based commerce, and in-store consumer data activation.
