Carrefour Sells Its Operations in Romania to Paval Holding

Exclusive Negotiations with Paval Holding
On February 12, Carrefour announced that it had entered into exclusive negotiations with Paval Holding for the sale of all its activities in Romania. The transaction is considered on the basis of an enterprise value of 823 million euros. This operation is part of the strategic review initiated by Carrefour at the beginning of 2025. Paval Holding is the investment vehicle of the Paval family, Romanian entrepreneurs who own Dedeman, the national leader in home improvement.
Carrefour's Operations in Romania
In Romania, Carrefour operates a multi-format network of 478 stores as of December 31, 2025, which includes 55 hypermarkets, 191 supermarkets, 202 convenience stores, and 30 discount stores. The activity generated a total revenue of 3.2 billion euros in 2024 and in the estimate for 2025, representing about 3.5% of the Group's total revenue.
Completion of the Transaction
The completion of the transaction remains subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. It is expected to occur in the second half of 2026.
