Covivio Acquires MEININGER Hotel in Porto for 31.6 Million Euros
Covivio has signed an agreement to acquire a three-star hotel with 228 rooms from Eiffage Immobilier in Porto, Portugal. The property will be operated by MEININGER under a firm 20-year lease.
Strategic Location and Facilities
The hotel, located in the Bonfim district, will cover an area of approximately 9,150 m². It will be situated near the Campanhã multimodal terminal, providing connections to trains, metro, buses, and the future high-speed train.
Construction and Environmental Standards
Construction work will begin in the first quarter of 2026, with an opening scheduled for the second half of 2028. The facility aims to achieve BREEAM Very Good and LCBI Standard environmental certifications.
Expansion of a Fruitful Partnership
This acquisition follows the purchase in July 2025 of the B&B Porto Centro Massarelos hotel, also developed with Eiffage. The partnership between Covivio and MEININGER, which began in 2014, will include four establishments in Paris, Lyon, Porto, and Munich following the delivery of this hotel.
