Danone Stock Slides Toward Its 64.26 € Support Level, RSI Under Pressure
The food and beverage group's share is holding narrow ground on Thursday, in a CAC 40 that is also slightly oriented downward. The technical configuration remains deteriorated, with an RSI approaching the oversold zone and a growing gap from moving averages reflecting accumulated selling pressure over several weeks.
A Limited Decline That Is Part of a Monthly Slide of More Than 5%
The Danone share is down 0.31% at 64.06 € during the session, in a CAC 40 declining 0.42%. This micro-movement says little in itself, but it extends a more marked downward dynamic over one month: the stock has lost more than 5% over the last thirty days, extending a marked monthly decline, while the quarter shows near-stagnation (+0.03%). Over one year, the loss reaches nearly 13%.
The macroeconomic context is not helping: the massive sell-off in global sovereign bonds, with 10-year yields close to their multi-year highs in the United States and Europe, increases the cost of capital and mechanically compresses valuations of consumption stocks with stable income streams such as Danone. The price also remains far from the resistance threshold at 72.24 €, which represents a gap of more than 12% from the current level.
An RSI at 34 and Three Moving Averages Above: The Technical Configuration Remains Under Pressure
The reading of technical indicators confirms the fragility of the situation. The stock is trading below its three moving averages: the MA20 at 66.12 €, the MA50 at 69.21 € and the MA200 at 69.82 €, with respective gaps of -3.1%, -7.4% and -8.2%. This triple bearish configuration reflects persistent selling pressure across multiple time horizons. The RSI at 34 is approaching the oversold threshold (30) without having reached it yet, signaling a progressive exhaustion of the downward move, but without a reversal signal at this stage.
Note that the immediate support is located at 64.26 €, at almost the exact contact with the current price: a downward break of this level would reopen a wider decline range. On the fundamental side, the Q1 2026 results published on April 30, 2026 had highlighted the acquisition of Huel as a growth driver in functional nutrition, but also the risk of infant formula recalls in Europe on the Specialized Nutrition division. These fundamental elements remain present, and the 64.26 € support constitutes the level to watch to assess the stock's resilience.
