Dassault Aviation stock climbs 2% and defies a declining CAC 40

In a slightly declining Paris market, Dassault Aviation stands out on Tuesday, driven by persistent geopolitical tensions and dense corporate developments since the beginning of the month. The security rises among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120, while most index values lose ground.

Dassault Aviation stock climbs 2% and defies a declining CAC 40

A rebound of nearly 2% that brings the security back to contact with its 20-day moving average

Dassault Aviation gains 1.98% to €288.80 in trading, compared to a close of €283.20 the previous day, and ranks among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120. The move contrasts with the CAC 40, which declines 0.21% at the same time, and with the SBF 120, down 0.20%. Over the week, the security already shows nearly 5% in gains, which substantially mitigates the monthly decline of 9.41%. The price returns exactly to contact with the 20-day moving average at €289.28, with a difference of only 0.17%, after remaining below it in recent sessions.

The 50-day moving average at €296.08 and the 200-day moving average at €304.78 remain above the price, respectively by 2.46% and 5.24%, which reflects persistent medium-term pressure. The RSI at 40 remains in neutral territory, with no oversold or overbought signals, which leaves the security in a wait-and-see configuration around this €289 pivot. The identified support at €275.40 is not under threat at this stage, while resistance at €320.40 remains distant.

Several recent developments fuel investor interest in the story. On September 9, the first two Falcon Albatros aircraft were delivered to the DGA, as part of the AVSIMAR maritime surveillance program, with full delivery expected by 2031. The following day, September 10, France officially announced its support for the Vortex reusable spaceplane project, during the International Space Summit in Paris, a decision praised by the group. These developments come in a context where first-half 2026 results, published on July 22, painted a mixed picture.

2026 guidance was maintained, with expected revenue growth, and the acceleration of Rafale Export deliveries (12 in the first half of 2026 versus 7 a year earlier) constituted a favourable factor. Conversely, the Defence order book had declined sharply, to €1,024 million in new orders compared to €7,172 million in the first half of 2025, due to the lack of a new major Rafale order. Ongoing negotiations for a 114-Rafale contract with India, as well as the Falcon 10X program that entered flight testing phase in June 2026, remain milestones to watch for the security's valuation. Resistance at €320.40 constitutes the next significant level on the chart.
