Dassault Systèmes shares remain above their €25.62 resistance level
The 3D software publisher is being sold by sellers in a Paris session clearly tilted to the downside. The stock is moving away from its recent high after a month of strong recovery.
A decline on a CAC 40 falling sharply after the correction in AI stocks
The Dassault Systèmes share fell 2.06% to €25.65 intraday, while the CAC 40 lost 1.43% to 8,088.27 points. The stock ranks in the second half of the table, behind Capgemini, Kering and LVMH, the most affected companies in the index.
The move follows a sharp correction on Wall Street on Thursday: the Nasdaq lost 5.52% and the S&P 500 4.36% at the close, with declines led by stocks linked to artificial intelligence, according to the day's news reports.
Tension is also visible in the VIX, which rose from 16.61 to 26.41. The Nikkei closed down 5.96% on Friday morning. This Friday, the DAX is down 1.61% and the FTSE 100 down 1.65%.
A stock that keeps a 6% lead over its 20-day moving average despite the pullback
The decline remains modest given the recent momentum: the stock is still up nearly 20% over one month and 2.31% over the week.
The price remains 6.12% above its 20-day moving average (MM20), at €24.17, after touching the €25.62 resistance on Wednesday. The stock then moved closer to the €26.19 level, which was the previous day's closing price.
The RSI at 65 reflects the magnitude of this recovery without signaling overbought conditions. On the fundamentals, the publisher reported on October 28 third-quarter revenue of €1.55 billion, up 5% at constant exchange rates, and a non-IFRS operating margin of 31.6%, above expectations. This release was followed by two price target increases on October 29, as detailed in this rally session.
