Edenred Chosen as Partner for the G7 Summit in Evian, June 2026
Edenred has been selected by French authorities as a sponsor for the G7 Summit in Evian (June 15-17, 2026). The group will provide digital restaurant cards to approximately 2,300 participants, journalists, and international delegations, enabling access to local dining in Haute-Savoie.
A Demonstration of Large-Scale Technological Deployment
The digital restaurant card developed by Edenred is based on the group's global technology platform, which is used daily by over 60 million users worldwide. This system ensures the traceability and security of transactions, according to the press release. The solution is modeled after Edenred's Ticket Restaurant program and will be accepted by a network of local restaurant partners associated with the group. Edenred emphasizes its ability to quickly deploy secure digital solutions on a large scale, while directing spending towards the local economy. This intervention is part of a continuing effort: Edenred had previously equipped the Summit organized in Biarritz in 2019 with a similar setup, ensuring a smooth experience and proper guidance of expenditures.
Rooted in the Summit's Commitment to Responsibility
The system meets the commitments made by the French presidency of the G7 for certification under ISO 20121, which governs the sustainability of major events. For users, the card offers freedom of choice while reducing food waste, the press release notes. Edenred will also showcase during the Summit its partnership with ShareTheMeal, the United Nations World Food Programme, aimed at funding meals for populations in need. An event is scheduled for June 16 in coordination with local restaurants and the World Food Programme. Bertrand Dumazy, CEO of Edenred, believes this collaboration 'demonstrates our ability to leverage our technological expertise and our network of partner restaurants in support of major international events, while creating value for all.'
