ENGIE Launches Its Largest Solar Park in the World in Brazil
ENGIE has announced the full commissioning of the Assú Sol photovoltaic complex in Brazil, a collection of 16 parks that make up the largest operational solar project of the Group. This commissioning follows the approval by Brazilian authorities on February 13, 2026.
Located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the Assú Sol complex has a total installed capacity of 753 MW spread across 16 photovoltaic parks. Covering an area of 2,344 hectares, the infrastructure includes more than 1.5 million photovoltaic modules, 12,000 km of cabling, and 53 km of internal access roads. According to ENGIE, the annual electricity production is expected to meet the energy needs of 850,000 people. The construction of the complex took 30 months, completed in December 2025.

In Brazil, ENGIE operates a total installed capacity of 15.7 GW, which is 100% renewable, including hydroelectric, onshore wind, and solar assets. The group also operates 3,200 km of electric transmission lines and 22 substations in the country. Assú Sol is part of ENGIE's goal to reach 95 GW of renewable and storage capacities globally by 2030. The Group continues to build electric transport infrastructure, including the Asa Branca network and the Graúna project.
