Etihad Airways Expands Its Airbus Fleet with New A330neo and A350 Aircraft
Etihad Airways has placed a firm order for six A330-900s and seven A350-1000s, along with three A350Fs, according to a press release.
Significant Acquisition at Dubai Air Show
Etihad Airways has made a significant order for new Airbus aircraft at the Dubai Air Show. The deal includes six Airbus A330-900s, an upgraded version of the A330, which will be added to its fleet. Additionally, Etihad ordered seven A350-1000s, bringing the total of this model in its fleet to 27 units. The airline has also increased its commitment to the A350F cargo model with three additional units, bringing its total order to ten aircraft.
Enhancing Operations and Cargo Capacity
According to Etihad Airways, these new acquisitions are aimed at strengthening its operations on medium and long-haul segments, as well as in cargo transport. The A330neo model is touted for its efficiency and flexibility, while the A350-1000 is known for its long-range performance. As for the A350F, it will enhance the airline's cargo capacity in response to growing global demand. The signing of this agreement reinforces the strategic partnership between Etihad Airways and Airbus.
Advanced Long-Haul Aircraft Technology
Airbus presents the A350 as the most modern long-haul aircraft, capable of traveling up to 18,000 kilometers non-stop. It has been designed with cutting-edge technologies, lightweight materials, and the latest generation Rolls-Royce engines to enhance energy efficiency. Similarly, the A330neo also utilizes recent Rolls-Royce engines to optimize fuel consumption. Both models can operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel, with Airbus aiming for 100% compatibility by 2030.
