Euronext Shares: Stock Declines Despite Double-Digit Annual Growth
Euronext shares fell more than 3% this Thursday, February 19, following the announcement of its annual results for 2025. The underlying revenue of the European stock exchange operator increased by 12.1%, but the stock failed to benefit, dropping to 122.50 euros after having reached its resistance level at 126.50 euros the previous day.
Annual Financial Results Revealed
The pan-European operator Euronext disclosed its annual accounts yesterday, reporting an underlying revenue of 1,823.2 million euros, up by 12.1% year-on-year. This growth was driven by the expansion of activities not related to market volatility and by the integration of Admincontrol and the Athex group, two strategic acquisitions aimed at broadening the group's scope of recurring revenues. Despite this sustained growth trajectory, the share price significantly dropped this Thursday, losing 3.16% to 122.50 euros. Over three months, the performance remains negative at -4%, while the annual increase is limited to 2.86%. The next financial events for the group are scheduled for May 19 with the results of the first quarter of 2026, followed by the general assembly the next day.
Technical Analysis of Today's Session
From a graphical perspective, today's session marked a clear rejection at the resistance level of 126.50 euros, which was exactly the closing price the previous day. This decline brings the stock below its 50-day moving average, set at 123.08 euros, indicating a short-term vulnerability. The 200-day moving average, significantly higher at 134.06 euros, shows a notable gap with current levels. The RSI, an indicator measuring the speed of price changes, is at 66, just below the conventionally set overbought threshold of 70. This setup suggests that the buying pressure accumulated in recent days was not sufficient to sustainably break through the resistance zone. The next technical support level to watch is at 113.90 euros, which also corresponds to the lower boundary of the Bollinger Bands at 113.24 euros.
