Eviden Deploys ARPEGE System in a NATO Exercise
Eviden, a product division of Atos Group, has implemented its ARPEGE radar threat simulation system during a NATO Tactical Leadership Program exercise in November in Spain. This simulator has been used by the French component since 2022 for fighter pilot training.
Deployment at NATO's Tactical Leadership Program
The ARPEGE system, developed by Avantix (a division specializing in electronic warfare within Eviden), was deployed during a NATO Tactical Leadership Program exercise that took place in November at the Los Llanos Air Base near Albacete, Spain. This ground-to-air radar threat simulation system has been operated since 2022 by the French Electronic Warfare Unit Polygone 1 at the same NATO training airbase. The system generates simulated radar illuminations intended to assess fighter pilots' reactions in flight: evasion maneuvers, decoy deployment, jamming, or air-to-ground attack simulation.
System Composition and Flexibility
The ARPEGE system consists of a central command post and remote light vehicles incorporating radar signal generators and tracking antennas. Its modularity allows for rapid deployment and networking of multiple trucks with the operations control center, providing a tailored response to various training needs across different areas.
Development from the Mobile Radar Threat Simulator Range
ARPEGE is developed from the Mobile Radar Threat Simulator (MRTS) range, a set of scalable solutions incorporating capabilities to adapt to next-generation radar signals and emerging threat protection systems. This range enables the implementation of complex and realistic operation scenarios tailored to the specific training contexts of air forces.
