Eviden Deploys Satellite Surveillance System for Greek EETT
Eviden, a product division of Atos Group, has implemented its SkyMon solution for the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), the Greek national regulatory authority. This deployment follows an open international tender co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and national resources.
Implementation of the EOS System
Eviden has delivered a satellite communications spectrum monitoring system to EETT, the Greek National Regulatory Authority responsible for regulating, supervising, and controlling electronic communications and postal services. Named EOS, the system represents a pioneering satellite surveillance station dedicated to monitoring the frequency spectrum used in satellite communications. As an independent Greek administrative authority, EETT is responsible for issues related to the satellite spectrum used by companies and research bodies and oversees innovation in the field of broadband satellite network-based electronic communications.
SkyMon Solution: The Backbone of the Project
Eviden's SkyMon solution forms the backbone of the project, featuring an advanced, fully automated radio frequency traffic monitoring system, suitable for all types of geostationary satellites. It provides fixed and mobile operators with a comprehensive suite of tools to continuously monitor satellite-to-ground station links from a centralized hub. In collaboration with its partner Edil Hellas SA, Eviden has established a fixed monitoring station equipped with reflector-type antennas, a radio frequency system linking the antennas to advanced measuring equipment, and a transmitter geolocation system. The station incorporates hardware and software for recording, processing, storing, and visualizing data, a complete monitoring and control platform, and an independent power supply for uninterrupted operation.
Selection after an International Tender
Following an open international tender co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and national resources, EETT selected Eviden's innovative SkyMon solution for the establishment of this satellite surveillance station.
