Flydubai Finalizes Deal for 150 A321neo Aircraft with Airbus
Flydubai has signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of 150 A321neo aircraft from Airbus, according to the company. This purchase marks the airline's entry as a new Airbus customer.

During the Dubai Airshow 2025, flydubai formalized the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of 150 A321neo aircraft with Airbus. This move aims to diversify the airline's narrow-body aircraft fleet and strengthen its long-term expansion plans. The agreement was signed by H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, and Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
Supporting Network Development
According to flydubai, integrating the A321neo into its fleet will support the next phase of its network development by enabling it to meet increasing demand in its markets. The airline plans to use these aircraft to offer its customers access to new destinations while enhancing travel efficiency and comfort.
Technological Advancements in the A321neo
The A321neo, part of the A320neo family, incorporates new technologies including next-generation engines and Sharklets, which allow for fuel savings of more than 20% compared to older single-aisle models. By the end of October 2025, Airbus had received over 7,200 orders for the A321neo from nearly 100 customers worldwide.
