Forvia stock loses 2.5% and slips to the bottom of the SBF 120, down 17.5% over one year
The automotive equipment manufacturer is losing ground in mid-session trading, in a markedly declining Paris market. This decline erases part of the rebound initiated last week, while the group's news has remained animated by appointments and political decisions on vehicle CO2 emissions.
A decline greater than that of the market, below the 20-day moving average
The Forvia stock is down 2.53% to €8.79, while the SBF 120 is losing 1.33% and the CAC 40 is down 1.35%. The stock ranks among the strongest declines in the broad index, far behind Stellantis (-4.49%) and Valeo (-4.30%) at the bottom of the table. It has fallen back below its 20-day moving average at €8.85 (a difference of 0.68%), after gaining 3.88% over the past week. This decline therefore erases only part of this weekly increase, and the stock remains down more than 4% over one month.
The support level at €8.42 is approximately 4.2% below the current price. The Paris session is marked by weekend violence and the rise in French interest rates: the 10-year OAT was raised to 4.79% on October 16, or 1.37 points above the German Bund. This context weighs on the entire stock market, without an established link to Forvia.
The Franco-German project on CO2 and support for vehicles produced in Europe
On October 17, Paris and Berlin adopted a common position: relaxed CO2 targets in exchange for a bonus reserved for vehicles "Made in Europe". The text remains a proposal, which must still be submitted to other member states. It concerns the entire automotive sector, of which the equipment manufacturer is part. On the group side, Forvia announced on October 14 the addition of the digital function and artificial intelligence to its executive committee, as well as the takeover of the Japan, India, Korea and ASEAN zones by its chief operating officer.
On the short-seller side, the declarations reviewed identify four funds with a cumulative net short position of 3.81% of capital, slightly declining by 0.14 percentage points over thirty days. The level remains notable, but recent developments do not show increased pressure. The next numerical reference to monitor is the €8.42 support level.
