Forvia shares among the biggest gainers in the SBF 120 and up 6.5% over the week
The Nanterre-based automotive supplier is rising mid-session in a Paris market trending higher. The move follows the publication of its third-quarter sales, which mark a turning point against a global automotive market in decline.
Slightly lower organic sales, but better than the automotive market
The stock gains 2.22% to €8.57, while the CAC 40 rises 0.48% and the SBF 120 rises 0.42%. It is up 6.64% over the week, extending a recovery begun after several sessions of decline.
The move coincides with the accounts published this morning: third-quarter revenue reached €5.1 billion, down 0.6% organically, while global automotive production fell 1.6%.
Forvia thus outperformed the market by 100 basis points, compared with a negative gap of 80 basis points over nine months. This turnaround rests on Europe, North America and the rest of Asia, while China fell 17.2% organically.
The group has also obtained all regulatory approvals to sell Interiors, a transaction expected to reduce its net debt by more than €1.0 billion.
Oddo BHF cuts its target to €11 while the stock remains below its moving averages
Among analysts, Oddo BHF lowers its price target from €13 to €11 with a neutral opinion, implying a potential upside of about 28% from the current price. CIC Market Solutions remains at buy with an unchanged target of €14, indicating a potential increase of about 63%.
For details of the opinions, the analyst consensus remains available. On the price front, the stock is still 4.33% below its 50-day moving average (€8.96) and 15.80% below its 200-day moving average (€10.18), a gap that shows the weekly rebound has not yet erased the 3.45% decline over three months.
Declared net short positions reach 4.47% of the share capital, spread across five funds, up 0.52 point over one month according to the disclosures consulted. This level indicates that some institutional investors remain positioned against the stock or are seeking to hedge an exposure, without its being possible to infer their intentions. The change in this figure over thirty days should be monitored in light of the coming sessions.
