GTT Stock: 10.44% Increase Over a Week, Boosted by Revised 2025 Targets
GTT surged on Monday morning following the announcement of an upward revision of its 2025 targets. The stock of the French specialist in containment for liquefied natural gas (LNG) benefits from a revitalized global context due to the lifting of the American moratorium on new liquefaction projects. This acceleration in the sector consolidates a bullish trend that began several days ago, with analysts significantly raising their price targets.
Mid-Day Trading Update
By midday on Monday, November 3, GTT's stock, listed in Paris, was trading at 184.00 euros, marking an increase of 7.23% compared to the previous Friday's closing price of 171.60 euros. Over the past seven days, the stock has shown a much stronger performance with an increase of 10.44%, indicating a gradual acceleration in demand for the stock. This momentum is part of a context of sustained valuation increase: the year 2025 consolidates this positive movement, with the stock gaining 37.31% since November 3, 2024, far outpacing the CAC 40's increase of 9.98% over the same period. Particularly this Monday, the benchmark Paris index advanced only 0.34%, thus highlighting GTT's outperformance. However, the trading volume remains moderate: 0.24% of the capital was traded this morning, suggesting a rise generated more by a strong appreciation of prices than by massive portfolio rotations. This limited exchange ratio is explained by the significant market capitalization of the group and a shareholder base potentially in a wait-and-see phase before consolidating positions. The stock continues to be driven by an underlying trend initiated several weeks earlier. Previous technical levels have been easily surpassed during this session, bringing the stock close to new historical highs for the fiscal year. This breaking of previous resistance thresholds indicates sustained buying pressure on the stock. The current valuation at 184 euros remains significantly distanced from the average levels of the previous phase.
Financial Targets Revision and Sector Dynamics
This acceleration comes after the upward revision of the 2025 financial targets announced this Monday morning. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, GTT recorded a revenue of 599.6 million euros, up 29% on an annual basis and 27.6% on a like-for-like basis. This momentum reflects the increase in the number of LNG carriers under construction worldwide. Considering this performance and the absence of delays in shipbuilding schedules, GTT has raised its annual guidance. The group now aims for a consolidated revenue between 790 and 820 million euros, compared to 750 to 800 million euros in its previous range. Similarly, the gross operating surplus (Ebitda) is expected between 530 and 550 million euros, beyond the old range of 490 to 540 million. This recovery is anchored in a favorable geopolitical context. In the United States, the lifting of the moratorium on new LNG projects has massively revived investments. Ten new liquefaction projects have been approved, including six in the United States, for a record capacity of 84 million tons per year. This dynamic translates into a very significant increase in the need for new LNG carriers. Since early July, GTT has secured ten new contracts for LNG carriers, including nine during the third quarter alone, representing 602 million euros in revenue secured for 2026 and 430 million for 2027. The order book, excluding LNG fuel, stands at 295 units as of September 30. Analysts applaud this momentum. Portzamparc maintains its buy recommendation and raises its price target from 179.10 euros to 188 euros, while Oddo BHF raises its target from 185 to 200 euros. This significant improvement in the sector context since September fuels the optimism of research houses.
Technical Perspective
From a technical standpoint, the GTT stock is now trading well above its main trend moving averages. The 50-day moving average is set at 158.71 euros and the 200-day at 153.86 euros, thus confirming the medium and long-term bullish profile. The gap between these two averages, around 4.85 euros, measures the amplitude and persistence of the current primary trend. The stock is also trading above the Bollinger bands, respectively positioned at 172.72 euros (upper bound) and 154.67 euros (lower bound), indicating controlled volatility around 7.19% over the past month. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 78, a level indicating potential overbought conditions. This indicator, which measures the velocity and amplitude of price changes, suggests that the bullish movement has reached a notable intensity. Concurrently, the MACD maintains a positive configuration with its main line at 3.16 above the signal line at 2.15. The MACD histogram displays a positive value of 1.01, confirming the persistence of the bullish momentum and the absence of short-term bearish divergence signals. The nearest support is established at 151.30 euros, providing an anchor point for positions, while the previously established resistance at 171.60 euros has already been surpassed. The stock's beta, set at 0.08, indicates an exposure to market movements that is not closely correlated with the overall market movement, characteristic of specialized sectors like LNG.
