IndiGo has confirmed a firm order for 30 Airbus A350 aircraft, bringing its total orders for this model to 60.
Finalization of the Airbus A350 Order
According to IndiGo's press release, the Indian airline has finalized a firm order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, converting a memorandum of understanding signed last June into a concrete commitment. This brings the company's total A350 orders to 60 aircraft. This development is part of a strategy to conquer the international long-haul market by leveraging the range and efficiency of the A350.
Strategic Confidence and Expansion
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, stated that this order reflects the company's confidence in the future of Indian aviation and in its strategic partnership with Airbus. The airline plans to strengthen its international network and offer new travel opportunities to its customers. The A350 is considered by IndiGo as a major asset to expand its reach and connect India with more global destinations.
India's Rapidly Growing Aviation Market
India, as the world's fastest-growing aviation market, is seeing an increase in demand for international travel as the economy and household incomes advance. The longstanding partnership between Airbus and India has contributed to the growth of the country's civil aviation sector. The A350 is touted as an ideal aircraft for meeting long-distance travel needs, thanks to its advanced technologies and energy efficiency. Globally, the A350 has recorded more than 1,400 orders from 63 clients as of the end of September 2025.
