JP Energy Environment and Crédit Agricole Create a Joint Agrivoltaic Venture
JP Energy Environment and Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies announce the establishment of a joint development platform, owned equally, aimed at supporting farmers in the implementation of agrivoltaic projects in France.
Formation of a Joint Development Platform
JP Energy Environment, an independent French renewable energy producer, and Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies, a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Group, announce the creation of a joint development platform dedicated to agrivoltaics. The platform is structured as a joint venture, owned equally (50/50) by the two partners. Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies leverages the network of Crédit Agricole's regional banks to support farmers in implementing their projects, while JP Energy Environment oversees the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the installations. The venture is launching with the involvement of four regional banks: Alsace Vosges, Centre-Loire, Centre-Ouest, and Val de France.
Current Agrivoltaic Projects Under Development
Two agrivoltaic projects are already under development in the Grand Est region. The first, located in Alsace, involves a 22-hectare cattle pasture with a capacity of 16 MW and could facilitate the establishment of a young female farmer. The second project, in the Bas-Rhin, focuses on outfitting a 15-hectare sheep pasture with an estimated installed capacity of 10 MW.
Goals for the Joint Platform
The Crédit Agricole / JP Energy Environment platform aims to build a portfolio of projects representing 450 MW of renewable electricity production under development by 2030.
