Kering Stock Moves Above Its Moving Averages After a Month of Decline
The owner of Gucci accelerates during a well-oriented Paris session. The stock moves above its short-term moving averages after a month of decline, as the group has just strengthened the leadership of its Bottega Veneta brand.
The Stock Moves Above Its Short-Term Moving Averages, Approaching €256
Kering stock gains 1.33% at €255.65, ranking among the strongest rises in the CAC 40, which itself is up by 0.32%. The stock erases part of its monthly decline, still close to 6% over thirty days, while posting a gain of 2.88% for the week. The recovery is accompanied by crossing two short-term moving averages: the price moves above the MM20 (€254.13) and the MM50 (€252.32), with a gap of about 1.3% over the latter.
The MM200, however, remains at €275, which is 7% above the current level, highlighting the distance still to be covered to reconnect with the medium-term trend. The RSI at 50 indicates a balance between buyers and sellers, without directional excess. The next threshold to watch remains the resistance identified at €276.55, which intersects with the MM200.
Appointment at the Helm of Bottega Veneta and Favorable Context for the Luxury Sector
The group announced on July 15 the appointment of Romain Spitzer as the CEO of Bottega Veneta, effective September 1, 2026. Based in Milan, he will join the executive committee of the group and report directly to CEO Luca de Meo. This appointment is part of the ongoing reshuffle of the houses in the portfolio.
On the sectoral front, the context remains mixed: Chinese statistics report a 3.4% year-on-year decline in jewelry/gold in June, while Swiss watch exports to China fell by 21.4%. Moreover, Chinese growth slowed to 4.3% in the second quarter, the lowest since late 2022, impacting the visibility of major luxury names exposed to the region. According to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock is trading at about 39.5 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year and 26.1 times those of 2027.
