Hermès share falls to €1,382.50, an unprecedented low since 2022
The Parisian leather goods maker crossed a threshold on Tuesday that had not been reached since 2022, amplifying a downward trend already established for several weeks. The downward revision of AlphaValue/Baader Europe's price target, published yesterday, is fueling pressure on the stock in a Paris market that is itself declining.
A new low since 2022 broken as support gives way during the session
Hermès International share is down 1.77% to €1,389 during trading, after touching an intraday low of €1,382.50 — an unprecedented low since 2022, marked by the Ukrainian geopolitical shock and the rate-hiking cycle. This level erases the previous bearish record at €1,388. The session saw the stock break through its support level at €1,399.50, below which it remains at the time of writing, confirming the breach of this threshold. Over the week, the decline reaches 5.83%; over the month, the stock has lost nearly 12%, and the decline over three months exceeds 18%.
Market conditions are not helping: the CAC 40 is down 0.84% during the session, in an environment where the VIX surges more than 13% on the day, signaling a surge in nervousness in equity markets. Swiss watch exports to China are down 18.5% year-on-year, and jewelry sales in China fell 10.1% year-on-year in July 2026, a signal of weakness in local demand for high-value luxury goods. Among comparable stocks, LVMH is down 2.24% and Christian Dior is down 1.68% during the session.
AlphaValue/Baader sharply revises its target and the stock remains far from all its moving averages
The day before, AlphaValue/Baader Europe lowered its price target on Hermès from €2,339 to €1,730, while revising its rating from "buy" to "accumulate". At the current price of €1,389, the revised target nevertheless represents an upside potential of approximately 24%. In terms of moving average configuration, the stock is trading significantly below its three reference points: 8.39% below the MA20 at €1,516.23, 12.10% below the MA50 at €1,580.21, and 22.56% below the MA200 at €1,793.70. These three moving averages form a structural ceiling above the price since several weeks, as recent declining sessions recalled.
The RSI at 33 is approaching the oversold zone, without having yet plunged into it, which reflects a gradual exhaustion of selling pressure but without an established reversal signal. Upon the publication of H1 2026 results (July 29, 2026), the company had highlighted an unfavorable currency impact of over €360 million on its revenue, while the Perfume and Beauty business declined 4% at constant exchange rates. The next identified resistance level is located at €1,644.50, approximately 18% above the current price.
