Magnum Invests €10M to Modernize its Hungarian Plant in Veszprém
The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) has announced an investment of 4 billion forints (approximately €10M) to modernize its Veszprém plant in Hungary. This enhancement of production capabilities is part of the group's strategy to transform category innovations into scalable solutions across Europe.
A Major Player in Hungarian Food Processing
The Veszprém plant, located in western Hungary, produces 230 million ice cream units annually and supplies the Hungarian and European markets under global brands such as Magnum, Cornetto, and Carte d'Or. Established in 1955, it employs over 500 staff and is a major player in the Hungarian food processing sector. The investment introduces a new production line designed to locally manufacture Magnum Bonbons, a premium small-portion format, created to meet the growing demand for reduced portions and shareable products. This capability enhances the plant's relevance in the group's production portfolio by enabling reliable and high-quality delivery to multiple markets.
An Operational Lever for Growth Strategy
TMICC, headquartered in Amsterdam, generated a revenue of €7.9 billion in 2025 and operates a network of 32 factories, 13 R&D centers, and a fleet of three million refrigerated units serving 80 markets. The Hungarian plant plays a key role in transforming the group's global innovation strategy into scalable production, enabling efficient market deployment of new ice cream formats in Europe. This enhancement of operational capabilities supports the group's broader ambition to combine the development of global brands with reliable local execution, ensuring that innovations reach customers and consumers at a European scale.
