Magnum Opens a 13,000 sq ft R&D and Design Center in Bengaluru
Magnum has inaugurated a research, design, and innovation center in Bengaluru, India. This 13,000 square foot facility (approximately 1,208 sq meters) aims to enhance the group's ability to develop products and packaging suited to local tastes and occasions.
Located in Whitefield, the tech district of Bengaluru, the new center brings together expertise in ice cream science, culinary skills, packaging technology, and consumer studies under one roof. It features a state-of-the-art laboratory and a digitally enabled pilot unit capable of conducting rapid tests on formulas, packaging (tubs, sticks, cones, kulfis, premium ice cream cakes) and cold chains. The center can also perform transport simulations and climate condition tests to validate innovations according to the realities of the Indian market. This new infrastructure will serve the entire portfolio of the group's brands in India: Kwality Wall's, Cornetto, Magnum, Carte d'Or, Feast, and Twister.

The Bengaluru center will work closely with the Global Design Center in Colworth, UK, and the regional innovation hub in Istanbul, Turkey. This integration of global capabilities and local knowledge is intended to enable the group to more swiftly address emerging consumer demands, enhance product quality, and shorten time-to-market. The group emphasizes that India remains one of the most dynamic ice cream markets in the world, characterized by rapidly evolving preferences and consumption occasions.
