Michelin Expands X Line Grip D Range with a Retreaded Tire for Heavy Trucks
Michelin is enhancing its commercial offerings in the long-haul truck tire segment by introducing a retreaded X Line Grip D tire and expanding its size range on Monday. This expansion meets the demand validated by fleet operators since the product's launch in 2025.
An Expansion Based on Field Feedback
The X Line Grip D tire, launched in 2025, has proven its ability to provide better traction and increased operational efficiency in real-world conditions. In response to this market validation, Michelin is now introducing a retreaded X Line Grip D tire as well as new sizes for long-distance and regional applications in North America. "The expansion of the X Line Grip D range reflects our commitment to delivering unmatched performance throughout every mile of the tire's life," says Yahn Heurlin, Vice President of B2B Marketing at Michelin North America. This extension creates an integrated solution combining new and retreaded tires for fleets demanding consistent performance.
DURACORE Technology for Extended Lifecycle
At the core of the X Line Grip D tire is the DURACORE carcass, designed for maximum durability and retreading capability. The design aims for a potential of up to one million miles with up to four successive retreads, allowing operators to reduce the total cost of ownership. The retreaded X Line Grip D tire is designed with the same tread pattern and compound technology as the new tire, preserving traction, wear resistance, and operational efficiency throughout the carcass's lifecycle. The product offers 20% more mileage compared to the Michelin XDN2, the lowest rolling resistance against leading competitors, and improved wet start traction, whether the tire is new or worn.
