Michelin Share: Among the Top Performers of the CAC 40, the Stock Rebounds Above 33.05 €
The Clermont-based tire manufacturer is repositioning itself at the top of the Paris index table, in a session where the CAC 40 remains barely changed. This recovery follows a decline at the beginning of the month, when the stock had fallen below a technical support level.
A Rebound That Brings the Price Back Above Its Twenty-Day Moving Average
The Michelin share gained 1.23% to 33.71 €, while the CAC 40 remained virtually stable at 7,837.51 points (+0.06%). The stock is among the strongest gainers of the index, in the leading pack behind Pernod Ricard, Veolia and Air Liquide. The movement follows the drop below the 33.05 € support level on October 8: the price has recovered above this threshold and the 20-day MA (33.46 €, a spread of +0.75%), while remaining below the 50-day MA (34.06 €, a spread of -1.03%).
Over the week, the gain reached 1.2%, compared to a performance of 0.75% over one month, with the quarter remaining down 3.33%. According to available disclosure data, net short positions on the stock amount to 1.00% of capital, distributed between two funds, and this cumulative level appeared within a thirty-day period. The level remains modest: it warrants monitoring this point without over-interpreting it.

When publishing the first half of 2026 results on July 27, the group reported an operating margin rising to 11.4% and revenue that was virtually stable. It had cited among its points of concern an unfavorable currency effect, which weighed 3.1% on sales, as well as original equipment markets that remain depressed. In contrast, Michelin brand volumes increased by 5% in replacement tires. The group, which also dedicates part of its resources to share buybacks (871 M€ over twelve months, or 3.8% of its market capitalization), will publish its revenue for the first nine months on October 20.
