Nextensa Secures Permit for Lake Side: €555 Million Invested at Tour & Taxis
Nextensa has obtained the urban planning permit for the Lake Side project, the last development area of the Brussels site of Tour & Taxis. This approval comes after a process initiated in March 2023 and marks a significant milestone for the continued urban transformation of the site.
Sustainable Urban Development
The Lake Side project continues the development of Tour & Taxis as a sustainable urban district. It will include more than 700 housing units, 166 of which are subsidized, along with a mix of offices, retail spaces, and horeca establishments. The project also incorporates over 7,000 m² of community facilities and new public green spaces. The main headquarters of Proximus will be located here. The district's sustainable energy supply will be ensured by a geothermal installation on the site scale. Marketing and monitoring of conditions are carried out in collaboration with the public operator citydev.brussels.
Long-term Investment
The Lake Side project represents a total investment of approximately €555 million, spread over a period of about eight years, allowing for a phased implementation of the various programs. Starting from 2028, Proximus will gradually move into the new offices on the site. This long-term development strengthens the character of Tour & Taxis and contributes to the creation of a vibrant, well-connected, and future-oriented district.
