Frédéric Sanchez, an independent director at Orange since 2020 and chairman of the Strategy and Technology Committee, will assume the role of chairman of the board after the general shareholders' meeting on May 19, 2026. This decision is based on the recommendations of the governance, social and environmental responsibility committee, and the ad hoc committee. It comes in anticipation of the end of Jacques Aschenbroich's term, who has reached the statutory age limit for serving as chairman of Orange.
Continued Involvement and Expertise
The board of directors will also propose to the general shareholders' meeting on May 19, 2026, the renewal of Jacques Aschenbroich's term as an independent director, allowing him to continue his commitment to the Group. Born in 1960, Frédéric Sanchez has been the chairman of the Fives Group since 2002. He has held various positions within this group since joining in 1990, including that of Chief Financial Officer in 1994 and Chief Executive Officer in 1997. Under his leadership, the Fives Group has accelerated its international development and diversified its activity portfolio. Frédéric Sanchez holds degrees from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales, the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris, and a DEA in Economics from the Université Paris-Dauphine.
