Eutelsat stock plunges 38% in three months and slides toward €1.74
The satellite operator's shares from Issy-les-Moulineaux remain under pressure on Monday, in a SBF 120 also declining, against a backdrop of volatility rekindled by the week of major central banks' decisions. Selling pressure reflects a monthly dynamic that has deteriorated sharply, despite several commercial announcements published last week.
A decline of 2.83% in trading that worsens a highly negative monthly trend
EUTELSAT COMMUNIC. loses 2.83% to €1.82 in trading, while the SBF 120 falls 0.77% in the same period. The stock posts one of the poorest performances in the index, with its rank 109 out of 120 members placing it among the steepest declines in the SBF 120. This movement reflects an entrenched deterioration: the decline reaches 18% over the month and exceeds 38% over three months, a decline that contrasts with a modest gain of 1.71% over the week.
The stock's volatility remains elevated at 20.92% over one month, and the VIX surged nearly 14% in trading on Monday, in a macro context stirred by the Fed meeting expected Wednesday and tensions on sovereign yields. Several commercial agreements had nonetheless been published in recent days: the renewal of the partnership with StarTV on the 117° West position and the extension of the agreement with A1 Group on the 16° East position, among others. These announcements were insufficient to stem pressure on the price, confirming that the market remains focused on the stock's underlying dynamics.
A weakened technical structure: the price evolves below its three moving averages
The technical configuration of Eutelsat Communications remains deteriorated. The price at €1.82 is below the 20-day MA at €1.89 (difference of -3.73%), below the 50-day MA at €2.08 (-12.52%) and below the 200-day MA at €2.33 (-21.91%): the three moving averages form a structural ceiling above the price, a sign of an underlying downtrend across short, medium and long-term horizons. The RSI at 44 remains neutral, far from extreme zones, which does not indicate immediate selling exhaustion. The support identified at €1.74 constitutes the next level to monitor, or approximately 4.4% below the current price.
The resistance at €2.22, meanwhile, represents a gap of more than 22% above the price, underscoring the extent of the distance to travel to reverse the trend. Furthermore, the choice of Arianespace for two OneWeb launches in 2027 and 2028 and the confirmation of the leading role in the LEO segment of IRIS² with 330 satellites outline a horizon of increased momentum, without these prospects bending short-term pressure. The €1.74 support remains the most immediate short-term reference.
