Orange May Sell Globecast: Exclusive Agreement Signed with Verdoso Fund
Orange and the investment fund Verdoso have signed an exclusivity agreement for the sale of Globecast, the group's media services business. This transaction could take place before the end of 2026, subject to consultation with the staff representative bodies.
Exclusive Agreement for the Sale of Globecast
Orange and Verdoso have announced the signing of an exclusivity agreement for a proposed sale of Globecast, the group's media services activity. Globecast currently supports thousands of clients, including television channels, rights holders, and platform operators in the distribution and broadcasting of audiovisual content globally. The company relies on a network of teleports and operation centers operated 24/7, spread across the globe. Since its inception 24 years ago, Globecast has been involved in covering major global events, including the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Tour de France, and the G7.
Globecast's Hybrid Infrastructure and Managed Services
Globecast boasts a hybrid infrastructure that combines satellite, fiber, and IP, coupled with a range of end-to-end managed services that allow broadcasters to simplify their operations and control their broadcasting costs. The acquisition by Verdoso would provide Globecast with a shareholder capable of supporting the deployment of its next-generation offerings in a structurally changing market. The staff representative bodies of Orange will be consulted regarding the potential completion of the transaction before the end of 2026.
