Orange Money Partners with Nirio (FDJ) and Expands Its Network to 11,400 Sales Points
Orange Money partners with Nirio, the payment service of FDJ group, to expand its physical presence in France. This partnership allows the mobile payment service to access over 9,000 sales points within the FDJ network (bars, tobacconists, and newsstands), bringing its total network to 11,400 locations across mainland France and overseas regions.
Expansion of Orange Money's Physical Network in France
Orange Money, a mobile financial service operated by Orange, partners with Nirio, the payment platform of FDJ UNITED. This partnership grants Orange Money access to over 9,000 sales points equipped with Nirio solutions within the FDJ network. The expansion increases Orange Money's network from 2,400 to 11,400 sales points in mainland France, Reunion, Mayotte, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. Orange Money users can now make cash deposits at these locations to credit their accounts. The procedure requires generating a QR code via the Orange Money Europe app and presenting it to the cashier.
Strategic Positioning and Offered Services
Orange Money has been operational in Africa since 2008 and has over 47 million customers in total. In Europe, the service enables money transfers to 30 African destinations (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Madagascar, Guinea Bissau, Egypt, and others). The application is available in 11 countries (France, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, and Greece). Besides transfers, Orange Money offers mobile data and voice options recharging, as well as top-ups via bank card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Nirio, on the other hand, provides cash collection, deposit, and withdrawal services in bars, tobacconists, and newsstands, complemented by an account and payment card offering.
