Orange Shares Hit a New 5-Year High at €18.68
In early afternoon trading, telecom operator Orange's stock rose 1.34% to €18.58 and reached €18.68 during the session, marking a new five-year high (previous record: €18.67). The stock is among the top three gainers on the CAC 40, in a Parisian index that is down 0.40%. Over one year, the performance has exceeded 50%.
Third Place in the CAC 40 and Strong Technical Momentum
Orange occupies the third spot on the CAC 40 behind STMicroelectronics (+6.83%) and ArcelorMittal (+4.06%), while the index is down 0.40% and the SBF 120 is down 0.30%. The stock is moving against the trend of the Paris market, showing a weekly gain of 3.71%. The price now exceeds its three moving averages: 4.68% above the MM20 (€17.75), 5.45% above the MM50 (€17.62), and more than 22% above the MM200 (€15.19). The stock has also broken above its Bollinger bands, with the upper boundary at €18.33, signaling potential overbuying after the recent rally. However, the RSI at 57 remains in the neutral zone, indicating a steady progression rather than a rush. The historical technical resistance at €18.25 has been surpassed; today's record of €18.68 sets a new graphical benchmark.
Goldman, BNP Exane and a Tight Schedule Up to the AGM
The movement extends the positive sequence that started at the end of April after the Q1 2026 results (revenue +3.5%, EBITDAaL +6.6%). On May 5, Goldman Sachs upgraded its recommendation to 'buy' with a target of €21.60, following BNP Paribas Exane's upgrade to €20.50 on April 15. At the current price, both targets offer a theoretical potential between 10% and 16%. Industrially, the group continues to roll out its agenda: announcement on Tuesday in Nairobi of an acceleration of its commitments in Africa, financing of €1.3 billion signed on April 29 for the acquisition of Scorefit, and exclusive negotiations until May 15 with Altice France within the Bouygues-Free-Orange consortium around SFR. The next official appointment is the 2026 Mixed General Meeting, set for May 19, followed by the publication of the half-year results on July 28.
