Orange Stock Falls Nearly 14% Over Three Months Ahead of Q3 Results
The telecommunications operator declines mid-session in a retreating CAC 40. The stock approaches its quarterly results, expected early next week, following a difficult quarter.
A Decline Adding to Back-to-School Losses, Below Medium-Term Moving Averages
Orange stock is trading at €14.16 in session, down 1.43%, in a CAC 40 itself declining 0.79%. Over three months, the stock has lost nearly 14%, a decline that the October 19 pullback had already documented. The price remains significantly below its 200-day moving average (gap of 14.18%), while it stands slightly above its 20-day moving average, which limits today's movement to a simple consolidation without breaking this short-term threshold.
The Paris market is evolving this Friday in a context of tension over French debt: the 10-year OAT is at 5.13% according to the Bank of France reading of October 22, the highest level since 2004, with a spread of 1.75 points with the German Bund. This backdrop concerns the entire Paris stock exchange.
Third Quarter Results on October 27, Following a Guidance Raise Last Summer
Orange will publish its third quarter 2026 results on October 27. During the publication of the first half on July 28, 2026, the group raised its annual targets, drawing on double-digit growth in Africa and the Middle East (+13.9% in revenue). Among the points of weakness mentioned at that time were Orange Business, down 3.1% over the half-year, as well as net debt raised to €35.7 billion following the acquisition of MasOrange.
Other European operators tracked also decline this Friday: Telefonica loses 2.01%, Telecom Italia 1.69%, and Deutsche Telekom 2.98%. Orange is thus holding up slightly better than its European peers, which are declining more than it at the same time.
