Pernod Ricard stock plunges nearly 7%, lagging the CAC 40

Annual results under pressure that penalize declining revenue

Following the publication this morning of 2025/2026 annual results, Pernod Ricard loses 6.72% to €63.06 in trading, lagging the CAC 40 which declines 0.92%. The fiscal year is marked by an organic revenue decline of 3.9% and a drop in current operating profit, due to the combined effect of weak demand in the United States and China. The group points instead to enhanced cash generation, margin defense and a slight reduction in net debt, while maintaining its dividend.

This dividend maintenance was not enough to reassure investors: the stock erases all of its meager monthly gain (+0.25% over one month) and extends its one-year decline to nearly 36%. Over the week, the pullback already exceeds 7.4%. Rémy Cointreau, a comparable spirits sector stock, also loses 2.38% in trading, in a difficult sector environment where cognac exports had declined by nearly 11% in value in 2024.

Stock trading below all its moving averages, CIC Market Solutions initiates neutral opinion

Technically, today's decline places the stock well below all of its moving averages: the 20-day MA at €68.47, the 50-day MA at €66.10 and the 200-day MA at €70.02 are all above the current price, with respective gaps of nearly 8%, 4.6% and nearly 10%. The MACD is in negative territory (histogram at -0.28), confirming selling pressure in the session. The price is approaching the support level at €62.18, down less than 1.4% from the current price, making it the most immediate technical level to watch.

The €62.18 support level is now the primary reference point to follow in the coming sessions.
