Quadient Achieves A- Rating from CDP for Climate Performance
Quadient has advanced in its environmental evaluation, announcing that it has received an A- rating from CDP, an organization assessing corporate climate performance, after seven consecutive years rated B.
Significant Improvement in Climate Reporting
According to the press release, this rating represents a significant improvement for Quadient, which has been reporting its climate data to CDP since 2009. The A- rating now places the company in the Leadership category of the organization. Brandon Batt, Director of Human Resources and Transformation at Quadient, stated that this recognition reflects Quadient's commitment to transparency and science-based actions. The company attributes this progress to the validation of its climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative and a thorough analysis of climate-related risks and opportunities. The company also mentions advancements in life cycle analyses and eco-design, launching more energy-efficient solutions.
Set Climate Goals and Progress Towards Net Zero
Quadient has set climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, according to the press release. The company aims to reduce its absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 64% and scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030, compared to 2018. The company also aims to achieve Net Zero across its entire value chain by 2050. By the end of 2024, Quadient reports having achieved a 55% reduction in its combined scope 1 and 2 emissions. The group attributes this progress to optimizing energy consumption in buildings, increasing the share of low-carbon energy, decarbonizing its vehicle fleet, and limiting business travel through remote working practices.
Sustainability Integrated into Product Design and Manufacturing
Sustainability is embedded in the design and manufacturing of products, according to the press release. Quadient aims for 80% of its product ranges to undergo life cycle analyses by the end of 2026, to ensure that new designs have a lower environmental impact than previous generations. The company specifies that it measures its carbon footprint annually in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and reports its progress through recognized frameworks such as CDP. This approach is part of the group's strategic plan, Elevate to 2030, where sustainability is seen as a lever for resilience, innovation, and long-term value creation.
