SBF 120: Nexans stock among strongest gainers, +2.5% following Jefferies
The Courbevoie cable manufacturer rebounds during the session in an almost stable Paris index. The movement follows a week of decline and occurs as a brokerage house has just revised its opinion on the security.
A rebound that places Nexans at the top of the SBF 120
The Nexans share gains 2.47% to €132.50, while the SBF 120 rises 0.11%. This gain places it among the strongest gainers in the index, behind Vallourec, Genfit and Valneva. The security nonetheless remains below its three moving averages: the 20-day MA at €134.56 is 1.53% above the price, the 200-day MA at €136.79 is 3.14% above.
Over the week, it still loses 2.86%, and the RSI at 41 remains neutral, which places this rebound in line with a broader consolidation movement. The support level at €127.20, tested on Friday, remains the closest reference point on the downside.
Jefferies raises its rating, short positions at 1% of capital
Jefferies moves from "hold" to "buy" on Nexans, with a price target of €158, approximately 19% above the current price. On the short selling side, two funds cumulatively hold 1.00% of capital according to the disclosed statements, a level up one point over thirty days. This figure remains modest: it signals limited caution, without any massive movement of distrust. The company had moreover raised its 2026 outlook when publishing H1 2026 results on July 29, 2026.
