Schneider Electric stock breaks below its support level at €235.75 and declines 1.5%
The equipment manufacturer based in Rueil-Malmaison continues its downturn mid-session, more sharply than the Paris index. It has just crossed a key technical threshold downward, just days after the launch of the capital increase financing the PTC acquisition.
A 21% decline over one month that pushes the stock below its former floor
Schneider Electric shares are down 1.59% at €232 during the session, while the CAC 40 retreats 0.79%. The price has broken through its former support level of €235.75, which becomes a resistance level, and remains below this level (last price at €232.8 during the session). The movement extends a slide of 21.36% over one month and 10.08% over the week. The RSI at 26 signals an oversold configuration.
The three moving averages are above the price: the 20-day MA (€265.29) is 12.55% above, the 50-day MA (€281.44) 17.57% above, and the 200-day MA (€268.29) 13.53% above. The stock ranks 30th out of 40 in the CAC 40 this Friday. It has lagged behind the gains of L'Oréal or TotalEnergies, which are rising.
A €6 billion capital increase and price targets in mixed directions
The decline follows the raising of €6 billion in shares, which was announced successfully on October 20, with the elimination of preferential subscription rights. It finances the acquisition of American publisher PTC, announced in early October for approximately €22 billion. Regarding analyst opinions, the two most recent revisions point in opposite directions.
BofA Securities lowered its target from €367 to €356 on October 22, while UBS raised it from €335 to €350 on October 21, with both houses maintaining a buy rating. These targets are well above the current price. The group published its third quarter 2026 revenue on October 16.
