Sercel Sells 6,000 Accel Nodes for Geothermal Project near Munich
Sercel, a subsidiary of Viridien, has announced the sale of 6,000 Accel nodes to German company DMT GmbH & Co. KG. These equipment will be deployed on a geothermal exploration program in the Munich region.
An Order of 6,000 Accel Nodes for Munich Geothermal Exploration
On August 17, 2026, Sercel announced the sale of 6,000 Accel nodes ("drop nodes") to DMT GmbH & Co. KG, for deployment on a geothermal exploration project in the Munich region, Germany.
The nodes will be used as part of a large-scale urban seismic acquisition program, intended for the development of geothermal energy in the Munich metropolitan area.
Accel, Sercel's New Solution
This contract concerns the Accel solution, recently launched by Sercel. According to the company, its drop deployment method aims to increase field productivity while maintaining data quality and operational safety standards.
Integrated into Sercel's nodal ecosystem, this solution is presented as compatible with existing node fleets.
Second Commercial Deployment for Accel in 2026
Dr Christian Henke, head of seismic exploration at DMT, indicated that the project required solutions combining "operational efficiency, proven reliability and seismic performance".
Jérôme Denigot, chief executive officer of Sercel, clarified that this contract followed the first commercial deployment of Accel that took place earlier in the year. Viridien employs approximately 3,200 people worldwide and is listed on Euronext Paris under the code VIRI.
