Viridien share price breaks through its 100.20 € resistance level and gains 2%
The geosciences specialist extends its rebound in a rising Paris market. The security has just crossed a technical threshold that has been acting as an obstacle for several sessions, while the pressure from short sellers remains elevated.
A threshold of 100.20 € broken during the session, above short-term moving averages
The Viridien share gains 2% to 102.20 € and remains above the 100.20 € resistance level, broken upwards during the session. The level, which was also the highest of the last thirty sessions, now plays the role of support.
The rebound is part of a positive trend: the share is up 12.2% over one week and 13.3% over one month. It thus stands 13.4% above its MA20 (90.16 €) and 13.6% above its MA50 (89.94 €).
Only the MA200, at 106.52 €, remains above the price, with a gap of 4.1%. The share also shows an increase of 35.7% over one year, after being among the largest declines of the SBF 120 on Monday at the end of last month, as recalled by the late September correction.
More short sellers, ahead of a quarterly meeting
Net short positions declared reach 10.14% of capital, distributed among nine funds, according to the declarations consulted. They have increased by 1.29 percentage points over thirty days, compared to 8.85% one month ago. Such a high level signals that institutional investors remain positioned against the value, or are seeking to hedge an exposure, without their motivations being known.
The share also benefits from Brent at 110.26 $ per barrel, but the group is mainly awaited on its third quarter 2026 results, published on November 3. Until then, the MA200 at 106.52 € is the next technical level that the price has not yet reached.
