The Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES continues its forward march. At midday on Wednesday, the stock is up 3.31% at €8.12, after reaching €8.26 during the session, a new high since 2022. Meanwhile, the SBF 120 index is up 0.60%.
A New Peak at €8.26 Confirms the Rally That Began in Early May
The stock marks a new four-year high at €8.26 during the session, surpassing the peak of €8.22 reached on May 14. The previous 2022 record, set amidst geopolitical tensions in Ukraine, is now surpassed. SES is among the top gainers in the SBF 120, an index that is up 0.60%. The rally is broad: +25% over three months and nearly 67% over a year. The recent sequence was turbulent, with a decline of 5.19% on May 15 following the high of May 14, but the stock resumed its upward trajectory in today's session.
A Tight Technical Setup Ahead of the Semi-Annual Results on July 30
At €8.12, the price is 11.76% above its 20-day moving average (€7.27) and more than 30% above its 200-day average (€6.22). The divergence between the three moving averages indicates a well-established upward trend. The RSI at 65 is approaching the overbought zone but is not there yet. The technical resistance at €8.10 has now been breached, which theoretically paves the way for exploring higher levels. The stock remains under the pressure of a fluctuating market: the session on May 15 showed that around €8, profit-taking can be swift. The next calendar event is the publication of the semi-annual results 2026, expected on July 30.
