Soitec Shares Drop 4.5%, Bottom of the SBF 120 and -30% Over a Month
The Isère-based semiconductor substrate specialist undergoes another red session in mid-morning. The stock closes the march of the broad Parisian index and extends a particularly heavy monthly correction, in a Parisian market otherwise trending upwards.
A Downturn Deepening a Monthly Decline Close to 30%
Soitec shares drop 4.58% to €83.34 during the session, marking the steepest decline in the SBF 120, while the broad Parisian index gains 0.30%. The stock has broken below its support level of €116.50 at the end of June, deepening its monthly decline to nearly 30%. Over three months, the stock has lost 14.8%, although it still shows a gain of more than 79% over one year.
The movement of the day extends a challenging series already documented by a succession of sessions at the tail end of the broad Parisian index, including a plunge of 7% on July 16 and a drop of nearly 13% on July 7. The monthly volatility of the stock stands at 27.38%, a high level that reflects the magnitude of intraday swings observed over the past several weeks.
The Stock Remains Significantly Disconnected from Its Short and Medium-Term Moving Averages
The price is now 41.7% below its MM20 (€142.93) and 39.1% below its MM50 (€136.89), a gap that illustrates the extent of the decline recorded since the peak in June. The RSI at 44 remains in the neutral zone, without indicating any immediate overselling, which leaves the stock exposed to continued downward pressure. Only the MM200, at €61.74, remains well below the price, with a cushion of about 35%.
During the announcement of the annual results for 2026 on May 27, the company cited among its risks the correction of inventories at its clients and the pressure on profitability linked to production reduction. Conversely, demand related to artificial intelligence and Photonics-SOI substrates for data centers were still identified as growth drivers, as well as the recent partnership with the Chinese foundry ZenSemi on 300 mm BCD-on-SOI substrates, announced at the end of June. The next technical milestone being monitored is the stock's behavior around the €80 level, a level not tested for several months.
