Stellantis Launches Affordable Electric Car Project in Europe
On Tuesday, Stellantis announced the launch of a small electric car project aimed at the European market, with production set to begin in 2028 at the Pomigliano d'Arco plant in Italy. This vehicle is part of the group's strategy to meet the growing consumer demand for affordable, urban electric models.
A Small Electric Car for the Everyday Vehicle Segment
The E-Car project aims to offer a compact, innovative, and affordable electric vehicle designed for daily urban mobility. The group clarifies that this acronym stands for 'European, Emotion, Electric, and Environmental friendliness.' The vehicle aligns with the European tradition of popular mobility, responding to the shrinking segment of affordable small cars observed in recent years in Europe.
Stellantis emphasizes that this project meets the expectations of its customers who desire a revival of stylish small vehicles produced in Europe, which are economical and environmentally friendly. The group presents this program as an expression of its purpose to 'Move people with brands and products that they love and trust.'
