Stellantis stock breaks through its €3.83 support level, trailing the CAC 40
The multi-brand automaker extends its decline and closes at the bottom of a sharply lower CAC 40. The pullback occurs as Paris and Berlin have just reached a common position on CO2 targets for new vehicles.
A support level breached intraday, far from moving averages
The stock loses 3.88% to €3.83, a level that exactly matches the support threshold breached downwards during the session. Stellantis is down 8.78% over one month and remains more than 35% below its 200-day MA (€5.90), a sign that the downtrend has not reversed. The RSI at 43 does not show excessive selling pressure: the decline is substantial but does not indicate oversold conditions. After posting a five-year low of €3.80 on October 15, the stock had rebounded Friday among the index's strongest gainers, but this rebound has been erased.
The CAC 40 falls 1.38% during the session. Stellantis performs worse than the index and occupies the last position in the ranking, followed by Accor (-3.13%) and Airbus (-2.82%). Renault, the comparable name of the session, declines 1.20%, with the month nearly flat (-0.55%).
Paris and Berlin propose to ease CO2 targets in exchange for a European bonus
According to the common position reached on October 17, France and Germany propose eased CO2 targets, in exchange for public aid reserved for vehicles produced in Europe. The text remains a proposal that must still be submitted to other member states. On fundamentals, the group published its first-half 2026 results on July 30.
It cited among its risks a variable pace of electrification depending on markets and an offering that aligns the price of electric vans with diesel, to the detriment of margins. According to the consensus of analyzed analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 7 times current fiscal year earnings and 3.6 times next fiscal year earnings.
