The vision module incorporates several components from ST. For vision-based detection, it features the automotive-grade 5.1-megapixel RGB-infrared (RGB-IR) image sensor ST VB1940, which supports both global and rolling shutter modes. ST also offers a consumer and industrial version, the V943, available in monochrome or RGB-IR. For motion detection, the 6-axis inertial measurement unit LSM6DSV16X includes ST's machine learning core for onboard AI. For 3D depth detection, the all-in-one dToF LiDAR module VL53L9CX provides 3D depth sensing up to 9 meters with a resolution of 54 x 42 zones (nearly 2,300 zones) and a wide field of view of 55°x42°, achieving measurements up to 100 frames per second.
Seamless Integration with NVIDIA Platforms
The module integrates with NVIDIA Jetson via Ethernet for real-time sensor data ingestion and with the open robotic development platform NVIDIA Isaac, which offers open AI models, simulation frameworks, and libraries for developers. The new module includes a build system and application programming interfaces (APIs), AI algorithms specifically designed for mobile robots, sample applications, domain randomization, and a simulation environment containing sensor models. ST continues to integrate its sensors, drivers, actuators, controllers, and development tools into the NVIDIA robotic ecosystem as a key partner in robotics and embedded AI.
