Vallourec and Baker Hughes have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the development of hydrogen storage solutions for the green hydrogen market. This collaboration focuses on integrating Vallourec's Delphy solution with Baker Hughes' compression technologies.
Strategic Partnership Initiated
Vallourec, a global leader in premium seamless tubular solutions, and Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, signed a memorandum of understanding on February 17, 2026. This agreement aims to establish a close and long-term cooperation to serve customers across the entire industrial value chain of green hydrogen. The protocol includes the future integration of Vallourec's Delphy storage solution with Baker Hughes' compression technologies. The collaboration focuses on optimizing compression-storage configurations, determining the most efficient operating pressures for each application, and assisting customers in reducing the total cost of operation.
Delphy: A Market-Ready Hydrogen Storage Solution
Delphy is Vallourec's hydrogen storage solution, already available on the market. It is capable of vertically storing up to 100 tons of green gaseous hydrogen underground. Designed to combine high-pressure performance, minimal ground footprint, and top-tier safety, this turnkey solution is certified by Bureau Veritas and DNV.
Collaboration to Serve the Entire Green Hydrogen Value Chain
The collaboration aims to serve customers across the entire value chain of green hydrogen, including producers of green ammonia, sustainable fuels, or green steel, as well as sectors demanding decarbonized electricity such as data centers.
