Verallia Appoints Cristina Riesgo as Chief Financial Officer
The glass packaging group announces the appointment of Cristina Riesgo as the new Chief Financial Officer starting March 1, 2026, replacing Nathalie Delbreuve. This appointment coincides with the postponement of the Capital Market Day to the third quarter of 2026.
Extensive Experience in Diverse Sectors
Cristina Riesgo joins Verallia with twenty years of experience in international groups across various sectors, according to the press release. The Spanish executive began her career at General Electric, where she held several financial positions before taking charge of management control for a division. She later held international responsibilities, including in financial planning and analysis, industrial financial management, as well as strategic development and mergers and acquisitions. In 2020, she joined Siemens Gamesa as the CFO of the Onshore division, overseeing a $6 billion operation and a team of 400 people. Over the last two years, she has led the financial transformation of the group, the statement noted.
A Strategic Addition to the Executive Committee
Cristina Riesgo will join Verallia's executive committee and will report directly to Patrice Lucas, the CEO of the group, the company states. In a statement, the new CFO expressed her intention to ensure robust financial governance and drive initiatives that promote profitable and sustainable growth. She emphasized that maintaining agility and financial discipline is crucial for fostering innovation and securing the group's long-term future. Patrice Lucas commented that he is confident Cristina Riesgo's leadership and experience will play a key role in Verallia's success.
Rescheduling of the Capital Market Day
With the arrival of Cristina Riesgo scheduled for March 1, the group has decided to reschedule the Capital Market Day, originally planned for January 21, 2026, to the third quarter of 2026, according to the press release. This decision aims to ensure the optimal integration of the new CFO and to benefit from her active participation in the finalization of this strategic event, the company indicates. As a reminder, Verallia is the European leader and the third largest global producer of glass packaging for beverages and food products. The group employs nearly 11,000 people and operates 35 glass factories in 12 countries, with a turnover of 3.5 billion euros in 2024.
