Verallia share rebounds 2.5%, one week after sharp decline
The glass packaging manufacturer's stock recovered ground on Tuesday, in a quasi-stable SBF 120 index (-0.06%). This rebound comes one week after the heavy sell-off that followed the publication of half-year results, while the stock remains depressed below all of its key moving averages.
A 2.47% rebound that falls short of closing the gap to moving averages
Verallia was trading at €18.68 during the session, up 2.47% compared to the previous day (€18.23), placing it among the strongest gainers in the SBF 120 at mid-session. However, the rebound remains modest given the accumulated decline: the stock has lost 7.71% over one month and 33.95% over one year. The technical configuration remains deteriorated.
The 20-day moving average at €19.47 and the 50-day moving average at €19.50 are respectively 4.06% and 4.21% above the current price, while the 200-day moving average at €20.75 represents a gap of nearly 10%. The RSI at 37 remains in low territory, without a clear reversal signal: the stock is not far from oversold territory, but no bullish breakout of a threshold occurred today. The price is holding slightly above the support level at €18.22, which it had broken through during the July 29th session.
Mixed half-year results and 2026 targets confirmed despite margin pressures
The July 28th publication revealed a mixed picture: first-half revenue declined by 1.4%, while free cash-flow surged 55% to €102 million. The EBITDA margin for the second quarter alone declined to 21.4% versus 22.5% a year earlier, reflecting a difficult economic and geopolitical environment. In this publication, the group nevertheless confirmed its 2026 targets: adjusted EBITDA of approximately €700 million and free cash-flow of approximately €220 million, excluding cash outflows related to the industrial footprint adaptation project.
This guidance remains conditional on the absence of further deterioration in the Middle East. Regarding analyst consensus, the consensus is to be monitored in this context of margin pressure. The stock will need to break through the resistance level at €20.38 for the technical momentum to improve.
