Vicat Stock: Drops Over 2% Despite Upgraded Price Target by Alphavalue
Vicat shares fell by 2.28% this Thursday at midday, trading at 73.00 euros compared to 74.70 euros the previous day. This decline occurs even though Alphavalue significantly raised its price target on the stock in the morning. Over one year, the shares of the Isère-based cement company still show a remarkable increase of more than 62%.
Alphavalue Revises Vicat's Price Target
On February 26, the analysis firm Alphavalue revised its price target for Vicat, increasing it from 68.50 euros to 81.40 euros, which represents a potential revaluation of about 11.5% compared to the current price of 73.00 euros. However, the recommendation remains at 'reduce', indicating a still cautious stance despite the significant target upgrade. This new target is close to the resistance threshold identified at 81.20 euros, a technical ceiling that the stock has not approached in recent weeks.
The next important dates for the company based in L'Isle-d'Abeau will be the general meeting scheduled for April 10, 2026, followed by the publication of the first quarter revenue on May 4. These events could provide better visibility on the operational dynamics of the cement manufacturer.
Current Session Further Weakens Vicat's Position
Today's session further depresses Vicat's price below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages, positioned at 76.05 euros and 76.35 euros respectively. This positioning below these two benchmarks signals a weakening of the short-term momentum, especially since the RSI, an indicator measuring the speed of price movements, is at 45, which is in the neutral zone but trending downwards. The nearest support is at 70.70 euros, close to the lower boundary of the Bollinger Bands at 70.46 euros, marking a key area to watch if the decline continues.
In the longer term, the picture remains much more positive: the 200-day moving average stands at 64.97 euros, nearly 11% below the current price, demonstrating the strength of the upward trend over the past twelve months. The annual performance of 62.58% places Vicat among the most significant gains in the construction materials sector on the Parisian market. The drop in today's session is part of a consolidation phase after the strong advance recorded over the past year.
