Vinci's Stock Jumps 2.5% and Rises to the Top of the CAC 40
The stock of the concessions and construction group makes a strong mid-morning rebound, erasing some of its weekly decline. The stock finds more favorable technical ground as the CAC 40 moves without clear direction. This movement is part of a marked rebound in European cyclical stocks.
A Rebound that Propels Vinci Among the Top Gainers of the CAC 40
Vinci's stock gains 2.57% to €127.50, positioning it among the top gainers of the CAC 40, while the Paris index loses 0.19%. The movement contrasts with the previous day's decline, which had seen the stock threaten its 50-day moving average (MM50). Other major construction companies follow the same dynamic, with Eiffage up 1.94% and Bouygues 1.18%.
The European cyclical context improves this morning, driven by a rebound in industrial stocks (ArcelorMittal leading with +8.92%) and a relaxation of the VIX to 15.97, down by 3.74%. Conversely, the French construction sector remains degraded: the construction climate stands at -18.2 in June, with order books at -33 and civil engineering activity down 10% over three months according to the FNTP. Despite this unfavorable backdrop, the stock rebounds during the session.
Crossing the MM20 Revives the Technical Outlook at €127.50
The rebound allows the stock to move back above its MM20 (€125.87), with a gap of +1.29%, and to catch up to its MM50 (€127.61), now in contact with the price. The RSI at 56 remains in the neutral zone, leaving room before buying pressure. The next identified resistance is at €130.65, while the technical support is at €121.70.
On the fundamental side, the group relies on its construction activity, with the recent €157 million contract secured for the new hospital in Reims, and on highway traffic data showing signs of recovery in May (+0.3% over the month). However, the stock remains down nearly 6% over three months, weighing on the annual performance, which is almost flat at -0.6%. The sustainable crossing of the MM50 at €127.61 will be the next technical reference.
