The Prague Water Management Society has awarded the contract for the modernization of the central wastewater treatment plant of the Czech capital to a consortium led by a subsidiary of VINCI Construction. The consortium consists of five VINCI Construction subsidiaries (SMP Vodohospodá?ské stavby, SMP Construction, ARKO Technology, PR?MSTAV, Stavby most?), ?eská voda-MEMSEP (Veolia group), Hochtief CZ, and Hochtief Infrastructure GmbH.

The works, totaling €192 million, will commence in October 2026 and are scheduled for a duration of 43 months. They include the dismantling of existing equipment as well as the demolition and reconstruction of 40 structures. Out of the 20 sedimentation tanks, 8 will be rebuilt and 4 renovated. All structures will be equipped with new water purification technologies.
Objective and Environmental Considerations
This reconstruction aims to rehabilitate and modernize a strategic hydraulic infrastructure, in operation for over 50 years, to enhance the quality of wastewater treatment and optimize energy consumption. Measures will be implemented to minimize the environmental impact of the construction site, including the reuse of materials on-site and the use of rainwater and recycled water throughout the construction process. VINCI Construction reported a turnover of more than €1.2 billion in the Czech Republic in 2025.
